November 2025 Inspiration Challenge

Each month, a member of the Altenew Design Team (or guest designer) selects a photo that they have taken and then uses that as inspiration for a project. We want to share the fun, of course, and so we invite YOU to use your own creativity to make a project inspired by this month's photo. This month's host is Michelle Short

November 2025 Inspiration Photo

November Inspiration Challenge by Michelle Short for Altenew

Hello there, Michelle here. I am delighted to be hosting this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge. The photo that inspired me is one that I took of fuschias in my garden. I had just got a new camera and was practicing taking photos on it. I love how this one came out!

I love the two different shades of pink on the fuschias, and also the vibrant greens, so I thought they would work well for a card color combination.

Stamping & Ink Blending

November 2025 Inspiration Challenge by Michelle Short for Altenew

For my card, I decided to choose a set that had two florals in it, so that I could color one in the darker pink and one in the lighter pink from the inspiration photo. However, I think it would look great to combine both shades of pink on one flower, and that would look really pretty too!

I stamped the two floral images from Build-A-Garden: Serene Blooms onto white cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink and the Stampwheel. I then placed the coordinating stencils over the images so that I could color them using ink blending with Mini Blending Brushes

  1. For the dark pink flowers, I used Bubblegum Dreams Fresh Dye Inks in Baby Pink, Fuschia, and Magenta.
  2. For the light pink flowers, I used Blushberry Bliss Fresh Dye Inks in Strawberry, Dusty Pink, and Blush Rose.
  3. For the leaves and stems, I used Green Valley Fresh Dye Inks in Firefly, Grass Field and Shadow Creek.

I then die cut them out using the coordinating dies.

I also die cut the vase from white cardstock and added ink blending on top with Jet Black Fresh Dye Ink

The flowers in my inspiration photo are in a black flower pot, so I thought this would work well for my card too!

Card Assembly

I arranged the flowers inside the vase first, and adhered them to the back with tape. I then added Instant Dimension Foam Tape to the back of the flowers and vase and adhered them to a white A2-sized card base.

I love how the flowers nestle in around each other!

Sentiment & Finishing Touches

November 2025 Inspiration Challenge by Michelle Short for Altenew

I stamped the sentiment from Build-A-Garden: Serene Blooms onto white cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink. It was die cut out using the coordinating die.

I adhered it to the card using liquid glue on the right, and Instant Dimension Foam Tape on the left.

To finish, I added dots using Fine Liner Pens. This is a great way to add something extra to a card without adding any extra dimension!

I hope I have inspired you to give this challenge a try and get inspired by my photo! I can't wait to see what you create!
